“Design & the American Vote”

The primary goal of the exhibition was to educate the general public on the value of design and highlight the outstanding efforts of dedicated designers throughout the country and our community. The secondary goal was to present design in a setting that highlighted it’s value as art. The exhibition showcased a series of 56 posters that were designed by AIGA members from around the country as part of the 2004 and 2008 “Get Out the Vote” poster campaign initiated by AIGA Design for Democracy. There were additional highlights from other initiatives from AIGA Design for Democracy such as the Top 10 election design guidelines, previous ballot design samples and proposed changes. Khoi Vinh, Design Director for NYTimes.com and AIGA national board member, spoke at a special event also hosted at Art6.
